Juvenile Black-Crowned Night Heron

This heron was in a nearby river that also had some water buffalo spending their lazy afternoon in the water.

I’ve been getting into some bird photography ever since plunking down the change for the 70-300mm lens, and am enjoying every bit of the experience.  It gives me an excuse to get outdoors and learn about birds – something I never really took seriously.

The fact that I was able to capture him in mid-hunt made it all the better.

This last shot is a little blurry due to movement, but I decided to keep it.  Not like you get a photo of a fish flying very often :)

  1. Awesome shots. I love the clarity. Birds do make for good photography.
