Market in Hsinchu

These shots were taken in Hsinchu City during a trip to a market which is near the Hsinchu Zoo, which I can thank for recently being “Freshly Pressed” :)

This market was ridiculously full of people, mostly because it was a Sunday.  It’s near a stadium in Hsinchu which acts as a kind of roundabout for what seems to a tiny village that sets up here on weekends.

All of these were taken with the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8.  Again, this came in handy for when the sun set.

  1. Cool stuff! I went here when I was in Taiwan (yup I lived in Hsinchu) and I remember those cactus plants! There was also a glass exhibition when I was there, but that might have been just a special event.

    • Thanks! The glass exhibition may have been part of the actual glass museum. It’s not a bad place to visit – kind of interesting how the area has transitioned from that into computer engineering.

Wow what a beautiful busy market. It’s definitely my kind of place to shop and eat. The cactus shot is genius :)

  3. I really like this series from Hsinchu Joshua… well done. You can really feel (even smell) the place.
