Jhubei Political Rally

With election season coming up next year, candidates are starting to work toward being nominated by their respective parties. The two major parties in Taiwan, the Kuomintang (KMT) and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) have been on the news quite frequently and of course this will only continue as candidates vie for attention.

On the national level, this has taken form in the candidacy of Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文), who is a female contender for the opposition party’s presidential bid. After winning her party’s nomination, Ing-wen is the first major female presidential candidate in Taiwan.

Anyway, off from my tangent and on to the post…

In Jhubei, county seat of Hsinchu County, two KMT candiates have started campaigning pretty drastically for the nomination. Here are some images from a recent political rally.
